BEFORE THE MONSOON ENDS

It’s a season when the clouds are pouring relief; so why don’t you play with paper boats? Just take a page out of some old note book, the notes of which are not noteworthy anymore and fold it quickly to make a little paper transport to allow your feelings to journey in freedom. Be sure to keep your phone aside, since it will have no use in the excitement you are about to experience. Then go out and look for a huge puddle spot. That won’t be difficult for you since the BMC has taken your joy spots into consideration leaving then untouched to save you the expenditure of a Joy World ticket.
So now you are ready with your tiny voyage vehicle to begin your journey. Place the boat in the stagnant waters and stand aside for your creation to get independently adventurous. Your boat could be enterprising and willing enough to take precarious routes, or it could with an expertise gifted with your hands, dodge its way through rigid stones or pebbles. But if weak hearted, it could also succumb to the blow of a sudden wind. Probably it could simply flow along the course of the breeze rowing the waters in the hollow of the ground. Your feet at the edge of the puddle could be the shore for which your boat may never wish to part from. Some nervous ones could sink even before they begin their journey.

You have your life and so does the boat. You have your brushes with existence and so does your boat. You get entangled in life and so does your boat in the branches fallen from some tree or some plastic waste your fellow beings have carelessly thrown on the wayside. But don’t worry, you have a survival instinct and so does your boat. Don’t you see how it has made its home in the comfort of those branches and plastic? You are made of dust and yet you venture to search and so does your boat made out of paper. So fragile and yet so daring in its movements. Without any fear of storms, it moves till it is able to. After all, it’s your invention willing to mingle with creation and dissolve in it without any fear. How wonderfully you have made it out of waste; forgetting to put in it any human pride, you have gifted it humility with which it enjoys its insignificant period of existence and then sinks into non-existence without any regrets.
Even Rabindranath Tagore, the seer poet saw matter in this paper activity of yours and was compelled to write a few lines on it. He understood how the boat has a lesson for us in the process of its journey. It teaches us that we cannot cross the sea merely by standing and staring at the water but we have to plunge into the flow like it does; without any protest. While we float in life just as it does, we need not worry about the clouds, since they may not even carry torrential rains in them but only a beautiful colour to glorify our life as a piece of art. A small piece of paper and what a colossal message of life sans worry!
